The Department of Traffic Information and Control Engineering in School of Transportation Science and Engineering was formed in 2009.

There are 15 faculties in the department, including 3 Professors, 1 Associate Professors and 11 Assistant Professors. 12 of them hold Ph.D. degrees. The department offers postdoctoral position under Transportation Engineering program. The Traffic Control and Information is the key construction program in MOHURD and 985 Project.

The research fields include Traffic Flow Simulation and Control, Traffic Simulation and Application, ITS-related Technology based on Internet of Things, Smart Traffic Sensors, Traffic Detection Technology, Traffic Management and Decision-aid Systems, Emergency Management Systems, Multi-source Traffic Data Mining, Collaborative Driving-related Topics.

In recent five years, Department of Traffic Information and Control Engineering has hosted more than 20 projects, published over 100 papers, 2 books, and 10 patents.
